Patient capital for the natural economy.

Sylvan Capital is a private investment firm. We allocate long-duration capital to ESG technologies and agriculture.

The firm

A private firm, deploying its own capital, on a horizon measured in decades.

Sylvan Capital is a Nevada-based investment firm. We invest our own and our partners’ capital into two convictions: that the next era of economic growth will be built on the technologies of decarbonization, and that agriculture will become the most strategically important physical industry of the century.

We do not raise outside funds. We are concentrated, deliberate, and private. We compound on our own timeline.

Focus

Two mandates. One thesis.

01 — ESG Technologies

The infrastructure of a lower-carbon economy.

We back companies and assets advancing the rebuilding of energy, industrial, and resource systems. We look for technical depth, credible unit economics, and a position in markets where regulation and physics point in the same direction.

  • Clean generation and storage
  • Grid software and electrification
  • Industrial decarbonization
  • Water, materials, and circular systems
  • Climate measurement and disclosure
02 — Agriculture

Working land and the systems that work it.

We invest in productive farmland, in operators advancing regenerative practice, and in the upstream and downstream businesses that make sustainable agriculture economically inevitable rather than aspirational.

  • Row-crop and specialty farmland
  • Regenerative and organic operations
  • Ag-biotech, inputs, and soil science
  • Controlled-environment agriculture
  • Food supply chain and traceability

Principles

How we choose what to own, and how long to own it.

i.

Duration

We underwrite for decades. We are not forced sellers, and we do not confuse quarterly motion with progress.

ii.

Conviction

We hold few positions and we know each one deeply. Diversification is a substitute for understanding.

iii.

Substance

We invest in businesses with physical economics. Energy delivered, soil restored, tonnes avoided.

iv.

Alignment

We prefer aligned operators to financial engineering. The right partner is worth more than the right cap structure.

v.

Discipline

Environmental and governance rigor is, in our view, the most reliable proxy for long-term operational quality.

vi.

Discretion

We do our work, write our memos, and let the compounding do the talking. We are a firm, not a brand.
